Emilymae's journey led her to become the dedicated Program Director at Terri's Treehouse Early Learning Center for the past 19 years. Under her guidance, the center has blossomed into a 5-star rated and NAEYC accredited hub of outdoor immersion play programming. With a focus on working with children, mentoring teachers and embracing the natural world, Emilymae orchestrates captivating outdoor experiences seamlessly blended with Developmentally Appropriate Practice in an engaging indoor social setting.
Emilymae's educational background is a fusion of tradition and progressive, including studies at Nicolet Area Tech College for Early Education, U.W. Madison, U.W. Platteville, NWTC, and the University of Pacifica. She holds an Administration Credential, Early Childhood Credential, and Working with Children and Nature Certification. Certified Guiding through the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy. With Backed by over 1000 hours of additional training in psychology, early education, survival, health, safety, nutrition and ecology, Emilymae is a well-rounded a force for positive change.
Beyond her role as an educator, Emilymae is also a Group Fitness Instruction Certified professional, teaching Hula Hoop Toning, Hula Meditation, and Yoga for eight years. She is ordained to carry out matrimonial events. She has presented at many events, workshops and retreats. Her expertise extends to Nicolet Area Technical College and Community Education, where she shares her knowledge of the outdoors, foraging, herbalism, and mushrooms. As the Founder of Flora and Mycology of the Northwoods, she tirelessly promotes ethical practices, foraging, herbalism, mushroom hunting, and quality early outdoor integration. She is a board Member of The Wisconsin Mycological Society and co-leads forays for the North state Mycological Club. She is the Founder of Flora and Mycology of The Northwoods.
Emilymae's personal life revolves around her family of four children and her husband. They call the Island of Minocqua home, where furry and feathery companions join them. Emilymae's ambitious goal is to explore all 1000 local lakes within a decade, engaging in activities that celebrate the Northwoods' natural resources and raise awareness for their protection and reverence.
With a deep commitment to her community, Emilymae actively advocates for preserving flora, fauna, family-orientated focus and children's well-being. Embracing the philosophy that "it takes a village," she is dedicated to fostering growth, learning, and creativity within her community. Drawing from her three decades of experience, she seeks to connect with open-minded individuals and support collective journeys of growth through relationships and creation.
